Just wrapped up a beautiful weekend here on Devils Lake. Yesterday was our first upper 70 degree day and we saw some nice rising water temps to go with it. Both yesterday and today we dealt with a fair amount of wind, but nothing that was unmanageable on the water. Yesterday, the neighbor boys (7&5)Continue reading “5/12/24 Report”

5/1/2024 Fishing Report
First of May and the walleyes were snapping! We had a little break in the rain today, so a couple of us got out for a short afternoon fish session. We found water temps from 46-51 degrees and the most fishy areas were in the 49-50 degree range. It took us about 2 hours toContinue reading “5/1/2024 Fishing Report”
6-18-22
First off, sorry for such a long gap in my reports! Planting season is just finally wrapping up and I have a little chance to take a breath! As we speak, it is blowing 35-40 but that didn’t stop the fish from biting. Each year, we start off pitching, then mix in some slip bobbers,Continue reading “6-18-22”
12-22-21 ice report
Got out on devils lake this evening for about 35 minutes. I drove about about 2 miles with the Polaris ranger, checking ice depth every couple hundred feet. In the area I traveled, I found 8-12” with a couple slushy pockets to avoid. Overall ice quality looked great though-good, solid, black ice. Of course IContinue reading “12-22-21 ice report”
12-12-21-first ice report!
Solid start to the 21-22 ice season. Ice conditions vary greatly, so be cautious where you head-yes, there were still small patches of open water a couple days ago! This morning consisted of knocking the rust off the auger, and getting the ice rods tuned up. Found fish in 5-6ft of water with the bestContinue reading “12-12-21-first ice report!”
7-19-21 Report
It is hot but the fishing continues to be hotter! We are in a great transition period right now where a variety of tactics are putting fish in the boat. This weekend we started pulling spinners on some ridges with great success. All colors seemed to work, as well as all bait, with maybe aContinue reading “7-19-21 Report”
Late June Update
Can you believe we are coming up on 4th of July, already! This last month was a ton of fun and if you made it out on the lake, you were rewarded for it. Beginning of June we had temperatures well above average that pushed the water temperatures up in a hurry. Those rising tempsContinue reading “Late June Update”
Hot Weather, Hot Bite
She was steamy, but the fish are biting! Got out for a couple hours today and we were on good fish from the start. We had our keepers in the live well in less than 30 minutes! The first 10 minutes we tried pulling spinners, but on the Livescope, you could see the fish followContinue reading “Hot Weather, Hot Bite”
5-22-2021 Fishing Report
Major cold front hit our region on Friday, but brought much needed rain, with it. We received 1/2 inch of rain right in town! Not much for our level of dryness, but we will take what we can get. This cold front pushed our water temps down 4-6 degrees in the matter of 48 hours.Continue reading “5-22-2021 Fishing Report”
5-17-21 Fishing Report
Got out Saturday for an absolutely beautiful day on the water! We were most definitely not the only ones out enjoying the weather, either. We put in at Six Mile and there must have been 40 boat trailers sitting there at 9am, when we got out. Conditions were 68 degrees and climbing to the highContinue reading “5-17-21 Fishing Report”
