My goal is to provide a fun, relaxing day on the water. Those that fish with me, walk away with information that will help put more fish in your boat. You will not find someone that will work harder than me, to accomplish this.
About Me
My name is Trevor Varilek, owner of Varilek’s Guide Service. Guiding has always been a life-long aspiration of mine, and when I moved to Devils Lake, it was time to make that a reality.
I grew up in Pequot Lakes, MN, which jump started my passion for fishing. I have many fishing role models in my life that keep pushing me to the best fisherman I can be. In Pequot Lakes, much of my time was spent on the Whitefish Chain, Gull, Pelican and Leech. All of these bodies of water are clear lakes that get heavily pressured. This taught me to think out of the box to put fish in the boat. Next, I moved to Rochester, MN where I had the opportunity to learn all about Pool 4 of the Mississippi River. Once again, it was completely new water and totally new strategies. After about 5 years in Rochester, my family and I moved to Kearney, NE, where I had the pleasure of fishing Harlan and Sherman Reservoirs. Once again, totally new strategies were implemented and we once again were able to be successful.
That brings us to today. Our travels over the last 15 years have shaped and molded me into the fisherman I am today. Nearly every technique that I have learned and continue to perfect is applicable on this waterbody.
