Hello! My name is Trevor Varilek, owner and guide for Varilek’s Guide Service. My wife, Ashlie, Son, Bentley(2) and daughter, Briar (1mo) live in Devils Lake. We enjoy getting in the outdoors walking our dogs (Mac and Lacey), playing in the yard, trail riding the Ranger, laying in layout blinds with honkers and ducks bombing in from overhead, or spending early morning and late evenings on the boat or in the fish house.
I work full-time locally for CHS on the agronomy team, so although my week days are fairly tied up, my weekends are spent on the hard or soft water.
Typical years, even while working full time, I spend on average 150-170days a year on the water. This has helped me build an understanding of the waterbodies that I fish and hone my techniques to put more fish in the boat. My family and friends have continuously questioned me on why I don’t open up a guide business to help teach others many of the things that I have learned and teach others how to put more fish in the boat too. That is what led me to starting the guide business-to not just put fish in the boat, but to also meet others and share my passion of fishing with them.
Throughout the summer and winter I look to continuously update this page with fishing reports and updates on my business.
Tight lines!
